A graduate in Organic Chemistry from Università di Pavia (Italy), until 1997 he was a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Board of the Hoechst AG group in Italy.
From 1998 to 2008, he was a manager at the Clariant chemical group, where he held positions of increasing responsibility until his appointment as a member of the Management Committee of the Masterbatches Division. In 2002, he joined the Board of Directors of Banca del Sempione SA, Lugano as Deputy Chairman, a position he held until May 2021. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Banca del Sempione SA.
